As anyone readin this blog probably knows, I aboslutely love to shoot outdoors. But in case I haven't mentioned it yet, I am particularly a big fan of outdoor newborn family session. It's so much fun! There's no doubt that indoor shoots offer a sweet, intimate lifestyle setting — but in my opinion, nothing beats natural light and gorgeous fields for a serene, sun-drenched newborn session! And as a bonus, I feel like older siblings usually enjoy being able to run around and play while I’m working with a family’s newest addition.
And that’s just how it went down with the Leifers! I was so glad to work with this sweet family again. Two-year-old Abigail and I click big time! We played a lot, I let her take photos of me with my camera (hehe!) and we gave each other lots of hugs. She was such a willing subject and helper, chirping up with a sweet little ‘sure!’ any time I asked her to do something. And, of course, Abigail introduced me to her little sister Victoria. It’s evident how proud Abigail is of her family’s newest member, helping mom during feedings and giving lots of love and kisses. It was so special to finally meet Victoria, given that I’d photographed her before — when she was still hanging out in mom Jennifer’s belly!
Working with Jennifer again was such a pleasure. Yet another of my clients who picks out great clothing! Jennifer’s dress was a flowing, romantic maxi from Free People. I love the mix of neutrals with pops of pink! Really, I thought the whole family’s outfits coordinated so beautifully with the softness of the field. And dad Brandon was a huge help during the session, keeping the kiddos entertained and battling a few bugs (hey, it’s all part of shooting in the great outdoors — but well worth it, I say!).
All in all it was a great session, and I was so happy to be able to spend another evening with the Leifers. Hope y’all enjoy this selection of photos from our time together!
